Who we are
Everest Tutoring supports Year 4–6 students preparing for the GATE and ASET exams across Perth. We run structured, high-quality programs that build critical thinking, problem-solving skills, exam technique, and confidence under pressure.

The role
You'll teach Year 4–6 students in small-group classes (kept intentionally small) and, where needed, 1-on-1 support. Your job is to make challenging content feel clear and achievable for young learners.
What you'll do:
- Teach structured GATE preparation lessons covering Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning, Reading and Writing
- Break down complex ideas into simple, age-appropriate steps
- Coach students on exam strategy and problem-solving techniques
- Build a positive, encouraging classroom culture where young students feel comfortable asking questions
- Track progress and help students improve week to week
- Work within our teaching approach and resources (so you spend less time on admin)
What we're looking for
We're recruiting tutors who can teach GATE preparation across all four exam components: Verbal Reasoning, Reading Comprehension, Quantitative Reasoning, and Writing.
We only tutors who can teach all components and have a genuine passion for working with primary school students.
What you'll bring
We're looking for tutors who are capable, reliable, and genuinely enjoy working with younger students.
Academic requirements:
- Minimum ATAR: 95+
- Ideal ATAR: 99+ & was in GATE Progam themselves
- Strong analytical and reasoning skills (GATE tutoring requires sharp critical thinking)
Skills and mindset:
- A love for working with primary school students and the patience to match
- Clear communication and the ability to simplify complex concepts for young learners
- An energetic, encouraging teaching style that keeps kids engaged
- Professionalism, reliability, and strong organisation
- Genuine care for student progress and development
Experience:
- Tutoring experience with primary school students is helpful, but not required
- Experience working with children (coaching, mentoring, teaching assistant roles) is valued
- Recent Year 12 graduates are welcome
Commitment and compliance:
- Full academic year commitment (preferred)
- Willingness to sign a tutor contract
- NDA and non-compete agreement required
- Must have, or be willing to obtain, a Working With Children Check, Police Clearance & ABN
Locations and schedule
In-person tutoring at our Perth centres, including Harrisdale, Willetton / Rossmoyne, and Perth Modern School. Online options available.
Most sessions run after school and on weekends. Timetables are set term by term and vary by location.
